Jeanne Sigler is President of Jeanne Sigler & Associates,
Inc., a New York City-based firm with a major focus on fundraising. Since
1984 the firm has served an impressive variety of clients in the areas
of education, the arts, camping, the environment, youth development,
historic preservation, public policy, public television and human services.
The firm is a member of the prestigious American Association of Fund
Raising Counsel.
Ms. Sigler is the co-author, with Margaret Holman, of The
Complete Guide to Careers in Fund Raising, published in 1998
by Kendall-Hunt. She has been a speaker at the International
Association of Fundraising Professionals Conferences; the
American Association of Fundraising Counsel “Fundraising
Day in New York”; the YMCA Major Facilities Group;
New York University School of Continuing Education Writing
Program; Mercy Corps Urban Institute/ Croatia; and the YMCA
of Greater New York Executive Management Training Program,
among many others.
She has produced two video tapes for nonprofit organizations: “Basics
for Board Members: An Overview of Fundraising,” and “Facets
of Fundraising: How to Write a Winning Foundation Proposal.” An
active volunteer herself, she has served on the boards
of the American Association of Fundraising Counsel, the
AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy, the East Asian History of
Science Trust, Prep for Prep, United Neighborhood Houses,
Women in Development New York, Asher House, and the Citizens
Union.
She holds a B.A. degree from Kalamazoo College and an
M.A. from the University of Illinois, both in sociology.
She also studied at the University of Erlangen, Erlangen,
Germany.
