Ms. Huggins has more than 30 years of
experience in the nonprofit sector. She has served as staff member and
consultant to a number of human service and education organizations
in New York City and Connecticut, including The Court Employment
Project, Reality House, Girls Inc., The Family, and The Cooperative
Program for Educational Opportunity. She served as Director
of Development for the New York City Mission Society, and
as a Senior Development Officer for the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical
Center Fund.
Her experience in development and fundraising includes work on annual and
capital campaigns, foundation and government grantsmanship, program planning
and special events. She joined Jeanne Sigler & Associates in 1995, and has
served as Vice President and senior consultant on a variety of projects, with
an emphasis on foundation, corporate and government grantmaking. Ms. Huggins
secured a $3.7 million grant under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development's largest competition ever for homeless assistance.
She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin College. She also studied
at the Mozarteum fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Salzburg, Austria. She
serves on the boards of directors of Creative Connections, an international
arts exchange organization, and Bottomless Closet, which assists New York City
women in transition from public assistance to the workforce.
